Chameleon Power unveils automated process for photorealistic images

Chameleon Power, a visualization technology company, has unveiled a new automated process that can deliver thousands of photorealistic images to furniture retailers.

“We can provide everything from photography and product preparation, to scene preparation and high-volume rendering within our facilities,” said Dan Dempsey, Chameleon Power president. “Photoshoots and vignette creation are no longer necessary. We can handle the entire process for our customers and provide limitless options for their products and scenes.”

The company has an automated process to create lifestyle and installation shots in large volume for product, fabric and image creation, according to Dempsey, and it also offers simulation engines to create a design before it goes into production.

The graphics team of more than 30 people often renders thousands of images overnight. This automated process lowers the cost and shortens the timeline needed to deliver digital assets, according to the company.

Research from Chameleon Power indicates that product rendering can be an effective closing tool, and the ability to visualize products in various lifestyle scenes can increase customer conversion rates by as much as 75%.

“Instead of only getting the furniture with different fabrics, we also render the products into rooms in real time,” said Dempsey. “We offer a wide range of pricing based on project type. For example, we worked with a home furniture retailer, on a room render and a furniture render, and then we applied the furniture to the room. They paid $1,000.”

Furniture Today recently reported on a similar new flat-fee service from Marxent, a furniture technology provider, that creates a database of images that includes all possible fabric and leather colors, wood options and furniture styles
